Mind your head is a campaign that aims to raise awareness about mental illness...
We are a campaign based in London, trying to encourage young people who have a mental illness to speak out. We believe that many young people have a mental illness and they should not be ashamed of it or be discriminated against. It's time for a change!
We know that mental illness is common and needs to be addressed:
- 1 in 10 young people will experience a mental health problem
- 1 in 10 people who have a mental illness say they face stigma and discrimination every day
28% of people waited more than a year to tell their family about their mental illness and 18% have still not told their family
In order to effectovely support people with a mental illness we need to remove the stigma - the only way we can do that is to SPEAK OUT. Speaking out allows us to support people with a mental illness, to let them know they are not alone. So come and join our campaign today on Twitter and be part of the change. It's time they know we're here!
