Campaigning against the high cost of travel in Manchester...
We chose to do the cost of travel as a group because we believe that it’s too high for people like ourselves. Living in Manchester is really good as we have a really good transport links but we have a problem with the cost of the trams, buses and trains. Using public transport is the only way we can get around Manchester as we can’t afford to learn to drive yet.
We don’t think it’s fair that we have to pay so much as some of us are not old enough to have jobs to help pay for the travel costs across Manchester. We wanted to ask people what they thought of the price of tickets and whether they actually use public transport.
It costs £4.20 a day for a travel ticket in Manchester!
