Tackling inequality through changing first impressions.
Suitux identified an issue that afflicts many young people from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds; the high prices of well fitting smart suits. They found that in a world where appearances matter, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are not able to spend money on ‘good’ suits needed to attend job interviews and help them move up in life. Thus their aim is ‘tackling inequality through changing first impressions.
They sought to tackle this by creating a social action campaign where they would team up with CEO’s and executives and other high network worth individuals, individuals likely to have many suits that they probably have no use for anymore, and ask them to donate their suits to be borrowed and used by young people who would not otherwise be able to afford such tailor made suits. Through this, they hoped that they could alleviate some of the barriers that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds face in gaining employment.
