Haven

Keep your money, we want change!

We’re passionate about eradicate long term homelessness in Wales.

In the UK over 32,000 people are without food or shelter and without a permanent address they have no means to apply for healthcare and employment services. Thereby trapping them in a downwards spiral.

To end this injustice, we propose Haven. Homeless people avoid shelters due to a variety of concerns. Less homeless people are seeking assistance with accommodation. More homeless people use our solution to start their direction in helping themselves.

Homelessness in Cardiff is such a big issue because there are over 4,500 people experiencing homelessness. This makes up 1% of the total population in cardiff.

101 of them were rough sleeping, 249 were living in short-term shelters and 54 of those in shelters are families with children. An address would allow homeless individuals to access services and opportunities and these include securing employment and education. We believe that we can be successful because our campaign is not original. A similar campaign was launched by AN Post in Ireland with great success and support from the government and local homelessness charities.

We at Haven are campaigning to allow homeless people to use their local post office as a proxy address.

Sign the petition! And support local homeless services to help us eradicate long term homelessness in Wales!
